Robbinston Grade School is located in Robbinston, Maine, a small community of 500 people on the Atlantic Ocean in extreme Eastern Maine. Our school is truly a community school since it is the only public facility usable for public functions in town. Our school has been used for scout meetings, adult basketball games, karate classes, wedding receptions, town meetings and many other public functions.
The present school was built in the late 1950's to educate the town's children, in grades 1-8, under one roof. An ell was built in 1986 to include Kindergarten, physical education, a library, a principal's office and a multi-purpose cafeteria/gymnasium.
The school enrollment has varied over the years from 50 to 90 students. Our current enrollment in grades K-8 is 60 students, which is the same enrollment as the school had in 1986 when the addition was finished.
There is a great deal of pride in our school on the part of the town's citizenry as is evident by the number of people who attend functions open to the public for both academics or sports events.
The public is welcome at our school and volunteerism is always appreciated. |
